Get to know the coach
Born and raised in a small village in the Scottish Borders, my passion for sport and fitness developed at an early age. I played football for St. Boswells R.F.C. and started Karate at the age of 7, earning my 1st Kyu brown belt before transitioning into Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in high school.
During high school, I was Captain of the basketball team and completed a Sports Leader course while coaching the junior team, which sparked my interest in coaching as a career. By 18, I had taken up weightlifting alongside running and sprint training, further fuelling my fitness journey.
After high school, I worked in forestry, a physically challenging job planting trees in the valleys and hills of the Scottish Borders and Northern England. I then spent a year travelling and working in Australia, stopping to explore India on my way. In Australia, I worked at a surf camp on the east coast, a rugged outback dairy farm, and lived in the beautiful city of Melbourne.
About Me
After I returned from Australia, I began training Muay Thai, which eventually led me to Thailand to train in Phuket—a fantastic experience that deepened my love for hard training and martial arts.
I also incorporated yoga into my daily routine, recognising its importance in improving flexibility, mobility, and mental health. It became an essential practice for helping me find balance in daily life and also complementing/countering the intensity of my training.
Alongside my martial arts practice, I’ve completed a Level 5 Diploma in Canine Behaviour and Psychology, earned my HNC in Coaching and Developing Sport from Edinburgh College, and achieved a Level 3 Personal Training qualification through The Edinburgh PT Academy. In 2024, I graduated from Edinburgh Napier University with a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction in Sports Coaching, a culmination of years of dedication and my love of sport, fitness and coaching.
Now, I use all these experiences to help others transform their fitness and their lives. I'm passionate about working with people of all ages and fitness levels, from complete beginners to athletes, helping them achieve their goals—whether that’s fat loss, muscle gain, or enhanced athletic performance.
With a focus on strength and conditioning, martial arts, and flexibility/mobility training, my goal is to create a supportive and motivating environment where fitness isn’t just about physical change, but also about devloping mental resilience, confidence, and a balanced lifestyle.
